We are a local travel agency run by French people living in Sri Lanka. Our goal is to make you discover the pearl of the Indian Ocean by improving the living conditions of the population and animals, by reducing pollution as much as possible.

Why launches this project?

The first 100% Sri Lankan electric bike has just seen the light of day, we want to develop sustainable activities by using this means of transport while making discover different places, little visited and by mingling with the local population.

How does this project fit into sustainable tourism ?

These bikes are made by a young local company, so the money from this purchase will go directly to the people and not leave the country. We will help the local population by creating guide jobs and by visiting craftsmen's workshops. This project also affects the reduction of the carbon footprint by using non-polluting means of transport

What difference will this project make ?

A unique activity in Sri Lanka: visit by bike with electric assistance! This will allow everyone to participate, without having to be in very good physical shape. The accompaniment of the guide will allow you to get to the depths of local life.

Where is your project taking place ?

Initially in Negombo, with the discovery of the city, the fish market, temples, local craftsmen then in the near future in the country, and why not organize a circuit with short steps to discover the country only using the bike!

The challenges of sustainable tourism in Sri Lanka

Sustainable tourism in Sri Lanka is not the people's priority, their priority is to feed themselves and to provide for their families by any means. Little by little, Olalalanka wants to improve this situation by providing sustainable, ecological solutions, while helping the population.

Motivations to launch this project :

Electric bike tours do not exist in Sri Lanka, this project will allow us: - to raise awareness of the local population about pollution, - to train and give a guide job to one or more people, - to reduce the carbon footprint, - to give work to this brand-new Sri Lankan company that has designed this bike - to have an authentic experience
